Assignment 3 - Prince Charming to the Rescue draft

Since I planned my portfolio to revolve around “King Aldrich”, I have chosen the concept of “Prince Charming to the Rescue” to ensure a continuation.

Keeping the story simple and predictable, I chose to focus on the complexity and sophistication in the usage of different shot sizes, camera angles and camera views. The shot sizes ranges from close up, medium close up, mid shot and long shot, the camera angles used are eye level, low camera angle, dutch (chanted) angle and the camera views applied are reaction shots, point of view and over the shoulder. The impacts are further strengthened using the effects in Photoshop.

Close up on the leg tripping on stone is used to create an emphasis on the occurence. Low camera angle is also used to create the impression of admiration. Mid reaction shots are used to bring out the expression of the people.

Class Exercise D - Photo Compositions

Close Up
Close up shots are used to emphasis on a particular part of the body. In this case, I choose to do a close up on my 2 pinky forming a victory sign! Just a random idea that I thought of.

High Angle View
High Angle View are used to create the impression of vulnerability. This friend of mine kinda like to "act cute"! Haha... So i decided to enhanced this by taking her from a high angle to make it seem as if she's vulnerable and can help emphasis her "acting cute".

Assignment 2 - Sentosa Casino Building Abstraction

I decided to do a Direction sign for the new Sentosa Casino Building as it is one of the newest iconic buildings in Singapore. I combined 2 images of the Casino Building and Poker Suits in order to make my design more effective in identifying the Casino Building.

The concepts I used for this abstraction are zooming (2nd abstraction), distilattion (from 2nd to 3rd abstraction) and change of perspective (from 3rd to 4th abstraction).

Assignment 2 - Less is More [Rejected]

No Wearing of Hats

No Wearing of Hat in Lecture Theatre

The abstraction is deemed to be too simple. Hence I decided to do something else.

Class Exercise C - Indexic or Iconic

The object selected is a mobile phone.

The Iconic symbol is simply the drawing of the actual handphone itself to signify the mobile phone.

The Indexic symbol is a drawing of the call button of a handphone as a call button would suggest a mobile phone since all phones would have a call button.
